Audi RS Q8 Subdivision course is one of the trending courses of the MS3D Academy. We released that to let more car design lovers learn Alias Subdivision easily and care about their ideas. These days, SUB-D modelling is very useful at automotive industries and car design studios because of its power to create a concept car in 3D in fastest way competing with a polygon based software and convert to NURBs surfaces with one click! Also changing the design of a car in 3D very fast was designer's all time dream and now the dream has come true.
The main difference between SUB-D and NURBs is the speed of the progress. You can create a SUB-D model many times faster. Although SUB-D is actually useful for designers and those who wanna create concepts and may change some ideas during the process. Working with Subdivision is more like polygon modeling but there are some essential differences between SUB-D and Poly. (If you don’t know how to work with Alias interface, you can find basic tutorials that are in the provided PDF.) To increase the quality of our subdivision course, we use only the official car blueprints and also a few photos as sources. Reflections and the play of lights on faces perfectly express the shape of the car and how surfaces have connected to each other. As we don’t have patch layout in sub-d modeling so we just care about the shape, faces and sub-d points (vertices). We want to create the same reflections on Audi RS Q8 car official photos with Autodesk Alias sub-d tools.

The Audi RSQ8 sub-D modelling course has been so helpful. Being from South Africa it has been difficult to have access to any quality automotive design training, so MS3D courses are invaluable to me. The step by step approach from start to finish is great. One area I think can be approved is in the beginning of the tutorial to explain a little more about your thinking behind the subd layout. I was following blindly rather than understanding the theory behind it. By the end of the tutorial I understand why you made all your layout decisions but it would�ve been more beneficial to understand that upfront.Fantastic course, thanks so much!

The best Autodesk Alias Sub-d course from 0 to the Legend! Now I can make all the surfaces I imagined of quickly and with high quality through the sub-d modeling.
For me, this was a great introduction to SUBD modeling in Alias and I found it helpful in many different ways. The only drawback is the lack of explanation of some tools in later lessons. However, this forces you to analyze them yourself, so it motivates you to learn even more.
