Hey guys, another wonderful story!I have seen a few render shots from a Concept on the internet and didn’t know who is the designer. After a while I found out the designer, 3d modeler and visualizer of that concept is someone named Murray Sharp.I wish I could share the renders but he asked me to keep them off line because of copyright infringement.
After a few months, a new user signed up in my Academy and sent me this message:
“I am so excited to hear from you. I’ve been looking for a top level Alias course for ages, and this one looks very promising.
I have scheduled a meeting for tomorrow. I look forward to meeting you.”
Murray had an online meeting with me asking for the best way to learn Sub-D modeling in Alias. I asked about his concept render shots and he replied: “This is an Alias Nurbs model but the modeling alone took me a year, so I am very keen to learn Sub-D to try speed up my workflow!”
Here is a screen shot of his final model:
“The Audi RSQ8 sub-D modelling course has been so helpful.
Being from South Africa it has been difficult to have access to any quality automotive design training, so MS3D courses are invaluable to me. The step by step approach from start to finish is great.
One area I think can be approved is in the beginning of the tutorial to explain a little more about your thinking behind the subd layout. I was following blindly rather than understanding the theory behind it. By the end of the tutorial I understand why you made all your layout decisions but it would’ve been more beneficial to understand that upfront.
Fantastic course, thanks so much!”
Subdivision is trending…. Every car designer need to know how to work with that.
Best, Mohammad.
Hey guys, a story from Hyundai.
This story begins when Head Designer of Hyundai Motor America contacted me and asked for some courses for his designers at Hyundai. I appreciated his offer and thanks God they were all satisfied with the contents.
Mike gained good experiences in automotive industry after starting his career in Honda R&D and Mazda. Then he was working at Hyundai Motor America as a Clay Modeler and CNC Programmer, but after a few years, he felt in love with Alias.
What a romance story come on!
“I think Sub-D modeling is very powerful! It’s a game changer in the creative collaborative process between designers and modelers. I go back and forth between Nurbs and Sub-D modeling. The Alias interface makes it easy to hybrid work in the same environment. Sub-D definitely has a place in the early part of development / design exploration.
My workflow these days is to model in Sub-D’s early in the project to explore design and problem solving with engineers/designers quickly and at some point rebuild in Nurbs when necessary for proper critical data.
As a former clay modeler working in Sub-D’s brings me some of that that satisfying familiar clay modeling style to the digital environment. In a way you can say Sub-D is the digital clay of Alias. But like anything the more you practice something the better you get at it. Understanding how to organize your Sub-D quad flow and modeling approach is key to success in Sub-D. I’m a fan!”
If I were you, I would trust what a professional Alias modeler says!
If you had any questions just message me on info@ms3d.net . Best, Mohammad.
Hey guys, Another story for today!
I just completely mixed up when Veejay joined my Audi RSQ8 Alias Subdivision Modeling Course, because Veejay is known as an Alias tutors and one of the first online Alias course publishers around the world.
Veejay’s experiences are wonderful. He worked for Ford Motor Company, Jaguar Cars for many years and he is the owner of Kaur Design Solutions LLC.
Having Veejay on board is actually a honor for me and I hope I can help him and other designers and modelers to find their way in automotive subdivision modeling.
Alias Subdivision course is one of the fastest ways to create 3d models from scratch or references. Subdivision modeling became trendy after everyone knew there is a new era for Subd modeling and converting them to Nurbs with only one click!
I have had many students from famous brands like Hyundai and Audi joined this!
I Hope I can have you on board soon, Mohammad.
Hey guys, I want to tell you the story of David who joined one of our courses and became successful in a few weeks.
David got his masters degree from SPD university in Transportation Design and after following our courses, he is currently working on Alias modeling projects, prototypes, etc. He sent me screenshots of his work in progress and I am very happy to see he is achieving the goal which was his dream before.
After following the course and learning the basics and foundation of Nurbs surfaces, he started working on a classic car exterior body project.
You can watch a screenshot below:
The car that he is working on is a Shelby Cobra with a few changes in design. Let’s call it a facelifted cobra.
Patches looks clean and it seems like the creator of these amazing surfaces followed his tutorials very good!
The Zebra shading shows the quality of surfaces much better:
David mentioned; “The model is not the perfection but I am satisfy. I’ll work on again after the feedback of the client when he will print the parts.”
Many students have joined our courses and stole the show with their progress.
You can be the next one, we support you!
Best wishes, Mohammad.
